Property and Evidence

The Identification Section operates under Criminal Investigations and consists of the Property and Evidence Room, Crime Scene Investigation and Latent Print Examination. The Property & Evidence Room is a secured area where all property, evidence, and their reports are properly placed and maintained to insure the chain of custody of all evidence.  Special provisions are made inside the evidence and property room to additionally secure drugs and weapons.  The ID Section also has a mobile crime scene unit van which responds to all crime scenes at the request of criminal investigations.  The crime scene van has all the forensic supplies needed to conduct a comprehensive examination of the scene.  In addition, the Identification section has an area for processing latent print detail processed at all crime scenes by use of powder or chemical methods.
