     Sebastian has approximately two miles of riverfront within our city limits. This is the gateway to our famed Sebastian Inlet and its world renowned sports fishing.  Also located in the Indian River, within Sebastian’s city limits, are several spoil islands on which people regularly camp, picnic, and play.  Water related recreational activities make up a large part of Sebastian’s appeal to tourists, guests and residents.  All of this potentially hazardous recreational activity requires that our department have a Marine Officer and watercraft to enforce laws, ensure public safety, perform rescues as necessary, and protect the environment. As our Marine Officer, Tom Poore handles all water related calls in a highly professional and efficient manner.
