NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 2009

             AUGUST 04, 2009 5:30PM TO 8:00PM

It's a night in August when the Sebastian Police Department hosts a public get together to promote unity in the community, heighten prevention of crime and drugs, and show a partnership between residents and law enforcement officials...  It's a night when we all send a message to criminals letting them know our neighborhhood is organized and fighting back.  The Sebastian Police Department and residents of the City of Sebastian are strengthening the neighborhhood "spirit" and firming up police-community partnerships.  We encourage our residents and ask them to get involved in our common goal of promoting awarness and safety. Together we are building a safer community and nation. The 2009 National Night Out was well attended, even though Mother Nature wasn't cooperating as well as she has in the past.  Rain didn't deter spectators from viewing our Special Operation Officers demonstrating how all their endless hours of intense training has paid off.  Everyone enjoyed free hotdogs, children got their fingerprinting done, questions were asked, and the citizens were able to speak with officers about their neighborhood concerns.

For those who could not  attend, we asked that they turn on their outside house lights to show support for the night out against crime.
