The Sebastian Police Department COMPUKID Child Identification Program  is a complete, turn-key computer system that automates the collection of all information necessary to generate a current and accurate description of a child.

When it comes to the safety of our children, time is of the essence.  It is a fact that over 2,000 children are reported missing each and every day in the United States.   Most are found within minutes or hours and have happy endings.  However, there is always the fear of the worst, which is what we must all prepare for.

One major problem that costs precious time is the gathering and distribution of current photos, fingerprints, and descriptive information to assist law enforcement agencies in locating and identifying the lost child.  The COMP-U-KID program can help.

Descriptive information (full name, nicknames, date of birth, hair and eye color, race, etc.) is provided by the parent.  A full color head and shoulders photograph is taken with a digital camera, and the child’s fingerprints are digitally captured.

The complete child’s information is printed out and a copy and is given to the parent for safekeeping.  No information is kept in the CompuKid system or at the Police Department.

For more information about this helpful program, contact Officer Steve Marcinik at (772) 589-5233 extension 8576

The Sebastian Police Department reminds parents to always know where you kids are. Teach them never to talk to strangers; don’t accept rides from anyone; to let you know where they are; never to open the door to anyone and never put their names on their clothes.
